1066 The Secrets Ltd
1066 The Secrets Ltd. has been formed in United Kingdom solely to produce the documentary provisionally titled 1066 The Secrets of The Bayeux Tapestry. The shareholders of the company are the Production Company - Silver Productions Ltd., Executive Producer Pierre Haneuse and the author of the book 1066, The Hidden History in the Bayeux Tapestry by Andrew Bridgeford, who is behind the new research, which the project is based on. For more than 900 years the Bayeux Tapestry, an artefact rich in exquisite details, death-defying valour and noble tragedy, has appeared to immortalise the glory of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066.
The famous episodes stitched into the Tapestry of the battle of Hastings, the death of King Harold and the domination of England by William Duke of Normandy tell a crucial part of the history of England and France. Spanning over 70 metres in length, and made by contemporaries, the Bayeux Tapestry retells the dramatic story of events from 1064 to 1066 in a sequence of vividly embroidered scenes. Extraordinary, colourful, captivating, unforgettable, it is the unique survivor of an art form that was once common in its day. It has been described as the most valuable work of art of its kind in the world.
